BLAINE COUNTY Short Term Deputy Clerk of Court in CHINOOK, Montana

Will perform general clerical duties, including answering telephones, photocopying, scanning, data entry and assisting Clerk of Court as requested as well as other duties as needed. Will adhere to standards of accuracy, timeliness and confidentiality. Will have contact with the public to process documents and provide information. Position requires the ability to communicate orally and in writing, type, file, scan, photocopy, manage files and records, retrieve and return heavy books and operate office machinery. Duties include: Retrieves and opens mail, sorts, date-stamps and retrieves necessary files; Answers telephone and takes accurate messages; assists with photocopying as requested; scans and images document on an "as needed" basis; including daily filings, marriage licenses, jury questionnaires and other documents as requested; assists in disaster preparedness by entering cases into full court, operating the Full Court Case Management System, Full Court Jury Program, Word, Outlook, Excel, Vital Statistics Bureau Marriage License Program, administers oath, scheduling of hearings, minutes, searching records, scanning documents and printing registers; assists in keeping court records; files and enters cases into the computer as directed; prints registers; assists in keeping court records; files and enters cases into the computer as directed; retrieves and puts away folders of cases daily; performs other duties as requested.Requirements include: knowledge of office procedures and use of office machines; skills in typing and the operation of office equipment, including a computer and scanner; ability to maintain standards of confidentiality and integrity; communicate effectively orally and in writing; follow verbal and written instructions; lift heavy books; establish effective working relationships with fellow employees, public officials, attorneys and the general public. The above knowledge, skills and abilities are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to: a High School Diploma or equivalent certification; experience in secretarial skills and use of office equipment as well as experience working with the public (required).
