Yellowstone Surgery Center 23 Hour PACU, Post-op Registered Nurse Position Description PACU, Post-op Registered Nurse-23 hour (Night RN) JOB SUMMARY : Under the general direction of the Pre/Post Op Manager, provides safe, quality patient care in the PACU areas; adheres to all policies and procedures of the facility. Functions as a patient advocate utilizing the Patient's Bill of Rights. Demonstrates professional growth and development by accepting responsibility and accountability for one's nursing practice. 23 hour night RN's are required to facilitate the night schedule for weekly operations Typically weekly operations for the 23 hour stay is Monday through Thursday RN's should be expected to report daily at their designated times to facilitate any chart checks or other duties expected to be completed. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICESURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current State RN license Current CPR certification. Prefer three years PACU experience, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center ACLS certification required. PALS certification within 1 year of employment. Will consider 2 years ICU experience in lieu of PACU experience. · Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. · Ability to function in a fast-paced, service oriented environment. · Demonstrates good interpersonal communication skills. · Requires prolonged periods of standing in place and walking.
